Seminar in Roman History

For each year a topic is selected from history of the roman republic or of the roman imperial era, with special concern on the sources. The detailed examination of selected topics brings in-depth knowledge of special themes from roman history, historical processes, roman social history and institutions, legal history, military and religious history and in-depth knowledge of the written and epigraphical sources. The topic of the seminar relates to Archaeology, Epigraphy, Roman regional, social and religious history and ancient literature with special connections to the greek and roman historiography.
