Recording devices, their properties and use. Recording, digitization, storage and electronic processing of speech and the written texts. Computer programs for transcription and acoustic analysis of speech (Transcriber, Praat). Programs for statistical analysis of corpus and other linguistic data and programs fort he visualization of (language) data. Exercises include the use of appropriate tools to solve a particular linguistic problem.
