• Definition of cataloguing, international standard bibliographic description ISBD, presentation of book cataloguing, influence of technology on cataloguing.
• Types and characteristics of library catalogues, bibliographies.
• Cataloguing approaches: central cataloguing, shared cataloguing, CIP.
• History of cataloguing and bibliography.
• National and international cataloguing rules.
